Fitness & SCUBA
One day I found myself out of breath walking up a small hill while talking on the phone. I was really mad at myself thinking, "I never want my body telling me that I can't do something." This was the catalyst for my adult fitness journey. For me, it's about small goals, consistent routines, supportive communities, and the confidence that comes from being able to know my limits and work to expand them everyday.
I became an instructor because I was inspired by the people who made both my first and my hundredth class memorable.
Now I hope to help create that same experience for others.
What I Teach:
Les Mills BODYPUMP®
I fell in love with this New-Zealand originated class back when I lived in New York. Not only was it a fantastic workout (the hour ZOOMS by), but the community and friends I found along the way have really changed what I look for in a gym experience.
BODYPUMP is a full-body strength workout using adjustable barbells, weight plates, and bodyweight exercises. It's designed for everyone—you choose your own weights, so whether it's your very first time weight-lifting or you're looking for some extra challenge, you can make the workout your own.
Find me at Healthworks Fitness in Coolidge Corner Tuesdays at 4:15 PM, or at Republic Fitness in Davis Square, Thursdays at 6:15 PM.

SCUBA
I originally signed up for my college SCUBA class for two reasons: (one) I needed to fulfill a gym requirement, and (two) there was a boy I had a crush on taking it. By the next semester, the boy was long gone...but I'd discovered that breathing underwater and exploring a hidden world of fish, cephalopods, giant manta rays, and coral reefs was a much better reward.
Since then, I've had the opportunity to teach SCUBA in a university setting for several years. I love introducing people to the underwater world, AND I can't resist talking about marine biology whenever I get the chance.
